2006-2007 NHS Connecting for Health SNOMED Structure Electronic Records Project (SSeRP) Working as member of team to meet NHS Connecting for Health requirements for implementation of SNOMED CT®. Including assessment of clinical user requirements, system capabilities and subset specification.

2000 British Army Consultancy Support for Enhanced Health Surveillance within the British Army Evaluation of British Army electronic clinical data retrieval requirements and development of appropriate MIQUEST queries plus a
report on feasibility of use of this approach to meet the stated
requirements.

files used to support case-mix analysis for Health Resource Grouping.
1998-2000 Nottingham University - CHDGP Project Design of queries and analysis process for Collection of Health Data from General Practice. Provision of training and support services related to evaluation, demonstration and further development of SNOMED Clinical Terms
within the UK National Health Service.
2003-2004 National Health Service National Programme for Information Technology Relevance of GP to GP to PSIS system population A short study of the applicability of lessons learned from the GP to GP communication project in relation to plans to populate and
query the PSIS spine (now NCRS) with clinical data from legacy system.
2001-2003 National Health Service Information Authority GP to GP Communication Project Technical consultancy, issue list manager and validation team support on a project to develop and validate an HL7 Version 3 message
for communication of Electronic Patient Records between GP computer system.
The output of this work now forms one of the key strands in the more general
work on communication of Clinical Statements within HL7 and the UK National
Health Service.
1999-2001 Northumberland Health Authority CONNECT Project Requirements analysis and development of messages suitable for communications involving NHS Direct, Out of Hours service providers and
General Practices. The results of this work were pilot messages also piloted
in two other NHS regions. The initial messages were based on XMLEPR (see
below). Current development in the NHS will address the requirements
identified in these reports using messages recrafted in HL7 Version 3.
1999 National Health Service Information Authority XML EPR Project Core team member of a project to validate the EHCR message (CEN ENV13606-4) by implementing the message in XML. Four leading UK
suppliers of clinical systems produces real instances of the message in XML
for review by clinical professionals.
1995-2003 National Health Service (IMG / IA) MIQUEST Software Redevelopment & Support Intermittent periods of design and development to extend the capabilities of NHS MIQUEST software (originally developed by David
Markwell of CIC).
1995-1997 Lancashire FHSA The Getting to Know Your Population Project Working with  to extend the use, experience and development of the products of the MIQUEST project.
1994-present Various MIQUEST Training and Query Development Services Providing many training courses on use of NHS MIQUEST over a period of ten years to a large number people including Health Authorities,
General Practices, Pharmaceutical Companies and Clinical Research Team.
1994-1995 European Commission Administrative uses of Patient Card Data Member of working group within the Advanced Informatics in Medicine (AIM) concerted action EUROCARDS. The working group is producing
reports on the administrative uses of data cards in healthcare. Other
working groups within the EUROCARDS action are investigating other aspects
of Patient Data Cards, including uses for clinical information.
1994-1995 Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham Health Commission. Child Health Information Systems The potential use of GP Computer Systems as a basis for future development of child health information systems.
